Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beans (navy or Great Northern)
  • 1 to 2 lb. sliced carrots
  • 2 1/2 lb. diced potatoes
  • 2 to 3 c. sliced celery
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 c. diced ham

Directions

    Rinse beans.

    Then in pot with 6 to 8 cups of water, bring to a boil, simmer 2 minutes, cover and let soak for 1 hour.

    Then return beans to a boil, add ham bone and simmer beans 1 hour until tender.

    Remove bone and remove ham from bone.
  5. 5
    Add ham and other ingredients to beans, cover and simmer until other vegetables are tender.
