- 1 1/2 lb. each pinto and kidney beans
- 1 lb. each black-eyed beans, split peas, lentils, pearl barley
- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 2 c. bean soup mix
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 can green chilies and tomatoes
- salt and pepper
- grated cheese
- hot buttered cornbread
Directions

1Rinse and soak pinto beans, kidney beans, black-eyed beans, split peas, lentils, pearl barley and uncooked rice overnight. Take 2 cups of bean soup mix.

2Cook beans in 3 to 4 quarts of water with soup bone, onion, clove of garlic, can green chilies and tomatoes, salt and pepper.

3Cook until beans are done, 2 to 4 hours.

4Sprinkle with grated cheese and serve with hot buttered cornbread.
