Ingredients

  • 2 c. favorite beans (kidney, black-eyed, Northern, etc.)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. chicken broth powder
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper (optional)

    Rinse beans thoroughly and soak overnight.

    Rinse beans again and cover with water.
  3. 3
    Add broth powder, garlic, oil, salt and pepper.
  4. 4
    Cook until tender.

    Last 30 minutes add chopped onions. Onions may be sauteed in small amount of butter before adding to beans for extra flavor.
