- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 3/4 c. very cold milk
Directions

1Adjust oven rack to lowest position.

2Preheat oven to 350°. In food processor with steel blade, combine flour, salt and Crisco; pulse about 6 seconds, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Add milk and process until dough forms a ball.

4Continue processing 2 minutes.

5On floured surface, roll dough into rectangle 1/4-inch thick.

6Fold dough in half, pressing lightly. With a 1 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, cut out dough and place on cookie sheet.

7Re-roll scraps and repeat, cutting more biscuits. Prick each biscuit with a fork.

8Bake 30 to 35 minutes, until pale golden.

9Turn off oven, leave biscuits in oven for 35 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
