  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 c. sugar
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

    Dissolve yeast.

    Mix dry ingredients.

    Cut in shortening. Stir in yeast mixture and buttermilk.

    Blend thoroughly and refrigerate or roll into biscuits.

    Let rise slightly; bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

    Dough will keep up to 3 days in fridge.
