- 2 1/2 lb. beef stew meat
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil (divided)
- 2 stalks celery 1-inch pieces)
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 c. beer (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
- 4 slices pumpernickel bread, crumbled
- 3 large carrots (cut into 1-inch pieces
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In Dutch oven, brown beef in 1 tablespoon oil, remove from pan and set aside.

3In same Dutch oven, saute celery, onion and garlic in remaining 1 tablespoon oil.

4Add beef stew, beer, pumpernickel crumbs and carrots.

5Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.

6Season with salt and pepper.
