Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. light beer
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
  • 1/8 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1 lb. round steak (fat trimmed), cut into 1-inch strips
  • 2 medium onions, cut in wedges
  • 2 medium green or sweet red peppers, cut in strips
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. hot, cooked egg noodles

Directions

    In a large saucepan, stir together beer, 3/4 cup water, bay leaf, 1/2 teaspoon salt, thyme and ground pepper.

    Stir in meat. Bring to boiling.

    Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 55 minutes. Add onions and peppers; simmer about 20 minutes or until beef is tender.

    Remove bay leaf.
