- 4 slices bacon
- 2 lb. sirloin beef cubes
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
- 1 c. Burgundy dry red wine
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
- 12 pearl white onions, peeled
- 1 lb. small button mushrooms
- 2 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
- cooked noodles or rice
Directions

1Cook bacon until crisp in Dutch oven.

2Remove and crumble brown beef in drippings.

3Pour off fat.

4Add crumbled bacon, broth, wine, garlic and thyme.

5Cook in oven over low heat for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.

6Add onions, carrots and mushrooms.

7Cook 30 minutes.
