- 1/8 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced
- 12 small white onions
- 2 lb. round steak, in 2-inch cubes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- salt and pepper
- marjoram
- thyme
- 1 c. red wine (preferably Burgundy)
- 1 c. bouillon or water
- 1/2 lb. sliced mushrooms
Directions

1Cook salt pork or bacon and onions until onions are golden brown.

2Remove the onions and set them aside.

3Put into the pan the round steak in 2-inch cubes.

4Brown well.

5Sprinkle with flour, salt, pepper, marjoram and thyme.

6Stir and add red wine and bouillon or water.
