Ingredients
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 3 lb. lean beef stew meat, cut into cubes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- salt and pepper
- thyme
- marjoram
- 1/2 c. beef bouillon
- 1 c. Burgundy or red wine
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
Directions

1In a large skillet, saute onions in oil until brown.

2Remove onions; set aside.

3Brown meat (add more oil, if needed).

4When browned, sprinkle with flour and seasonings.

5Add bouillon and wine; mix well.

6Simmer on low heat for 2 1/2 hours.

7Add more wine, if needed.
-
8Return onions and add mushrooms; stir well. Simmer 45 minutes or until meat is tender.

9Serve over rice. Serves 8.
