Ingredients

  • 2 lb. cubed round or sirloin tips of beef
  • 1 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet
  • 1/4 c. Cream of Rice cereal
  • 4 carrots, shredded
  • 2 c. thin sliced onion
  • 1 c. thin sliced celery
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/8 tsp. thyme
  • 2 c. Burgundy wine
  • 2 cans mushrooms

    Place beef on rack in roasting pan.

    Put into unheated oven and heat oven to 500°.

    Roast beef for 5 minutes for each pound of weight (roast a 4 pound roast for 20 minutes).

    Turn off oven.

    Do not open door.

    Leave beef in oven for 2 hours.

    Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
