Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 lb. beef chuck, cut into 2-inch chunks
- 1/4 c. flour
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 6 medium carrots, cut in 2-inch chunks
- 3 ribs celery, cut in 1-inch chunks
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. dry sherry
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 1 or 2 green peppers, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Layer half of the meat, sprinkled with 1/4 cup flour.

2Add potatoes, carrots, celery and onions.

3Sprinkle remaining flour; repeat layers.

4Mix water, sherry, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Pour over all.

5Cover and bake 2 to 2 1/2 hours at 300°.

6Add green peppers and cook 20 minutes longer.
