  • 3/4 lb. partially frozen boneless beef sirloin steak, trimmed of fat
  • 1 1/2 c. frozen unsweetened pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 2 Tbsp. dry sherry
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 medium carrots, thinly bias-sliced
  • 6 green onions, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 2 c. hot cooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3 (1/4-inch) slices ginger root
