  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 large potatoes, pared and thinly sliced
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 14 cups milk
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 14 cups corn flakes, crushed

Directions

    Heat oil in large skillet.

    Cook and stir meat and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender; add broth; heat to boiling; reduce heat and cover and simmer 1 hours.

    Heat oven to 350F; pour meat mixture into ungreased baking dish (13x9x2-inch).

    Arrange potato slices on meat; stir together soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper; pour over potatoes.

    Sprinkle with cheese and cereal.

    Bake uncovered 1 1/2 hrs or until potatoes and meat are tender.
