Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. lean meat
  • 1 pkg. McCormick meat marinade
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1/3 c. liquid smoke
  • 1/2 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp. salt

Directions

    Slice meat 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch thick.

    Mix together all remaining ingredients.

    Add meat and let marinate for 1 to 2 hours.

    Drain meat and place in oven on rack for 8 to 10 hours at 150°.

    Check periodically after 7 hours to suit texture desired. This process can also be done in a dehydrator at the same temperature and time.
