Ingredients

  • 4 lb. round steak, frozen
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. tomato juice
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. seasoned salt

    Thaw meat just enough to cut it into very thin strips.

    Mix remaining ingredients to make a marinade. Soak the meat strips in the marinade in the refrigerator for 8 hours, stirring every hour. Drain the meat strips and place on trays in a food dehydrator. Dry until brittle. Meat will bend but not break when dry and should have no soft spots.

    It may be stored at room temperature for about 1 week; for longer storage, keep in refrigerator or freezer.
