Beef Marsala

- 3 lb. stewing beef
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 medium-large onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 c. white cooking wine
- 1 c. Marsala cooking wine
- 1/2 c. beef broth
- 1/2 c. chopped mushrooms
- 1/2 tsp. each: crushed rosemary, crushed oregano and crushed basil
Directions

1Saute onions and garlic in oil in a large stew pot until slightly brown.

2Add remaining ingredients, beginning with liquids.

3Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

4If needed, add more liquid.

5Thicken at end of cooking time, if necessary, or desired, with cornstarch and a small amount of the hot liquid.

6Serve over cooked rice.
