Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef cubes or 2 large round chicken breasts, cut up
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1 large can mushrooms
  • 3 large potatoes, chopped
  • 3 large carrots, sliced
  • 1 stick celery, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 box frozen peas
  • salt and pepper (optional)
  • 1 c. red or white cooking wine

Directions

    Put all ingredients, except wine and frozen peas, together (season with salt and pepper) and stir well.

    Put in oven at 250°. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water after the first hour.

    After the third hour, add either white or red cooking wine.

    Continue baking at 250° for 5 hours.

    Stir every hour.

    The last hour, put the box of frozen peas on top.

    Cook covered.
