Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips 1/8 inch thick
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, cut small
  • 2 tsp. sugar

    Heat oil in skillet.

    Add meat and brown.

    Remove meat to dish.

    Add onion, garlic pieces and green pepper slices to skillet and cook until just tender.

    Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce.

    Add sugar, garlic salt and pepper.

    Pour this into skillet over vegetables, stirring until sauce is thickened and clear.

    Add cooked meat, cook about 5 to 10 minutes longer and serve over hot rice.
