- 3 lb. beef stew meat
- 1 large onion, cut up
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 small can tomato paste (6 oz.)
- 1 c. Uncle Ben's rice
- 3 ribs celery, cut up
Directions

1Cut beef in small pieces.

2Put in 5-quart kettle with onion, celery and seasonings.

3Cover with water; bring to a boil and stir to mix well.

4Reduce heat to a simmer.

5Cook until meat is tender, then add tomato paste and stir; bring to a boil.

6Add about 6 cups water; let come to a boil.

7Add rice and cook until rice is done, about 1/2 hour.
