Beef Pot Roast

  • 4 to 5 lb. rump
  • 2 small or 1 medium to large onion, sliced
  • piece of suet or butter

Directions

    Place piece of suet or butter in a heavy roasting pan (with a domed lid, preferably a Dutch oven).

    Brown until bottom of pan is glazed.
  3. 3
    Remove suit and brown beef on all sides.
  4. 4
    Remove from pan and remove any grease on bottom of pan.

    Put beef back in, fat side down.
  6. 6
    Add sprinkle of vinegar and onions.
  7. 7
    Cook approximately 4 to 5 hours.
  8. 8
    Turn midway.
