- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1/2 Tbsp. celery salt
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Add the onions and the garlic. Cook until tender, or about 5 minutes. Add the beef and fry until browned.

2Add the other ingredients. Simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

3Makes 3 1/2 pints.

4Keep on a low flame.
