- 1 lb. stew beef
- 1 Tbsp. Wesson canola oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 potatoes, cut up
- 1 turnip, diced (rutabaga)
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped up
- 1/2 tsp. bouquet sauce
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. flour (self-rising)
- 3 c. water
Directions

1Brown stew beef in oil about 5 minutes.

2Add water, salt, pepper, potatoes, turnip, carrots, celery, onion, bouquet sauce, bouillon cube and bay leaf.

3Cook over medium heat for about 1 1/2 hours or in oven at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.

4Mix flour and 1/2 cup water (cold).

5Add to stew beef to thicken for gravy.
