Ingredients
- 1 3/4 lb. stew meat
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1 large can tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 c. beef stock
- 1 1/2 c. carrots
- 1/4 c. celery
- 1/4 c. onion
- 1 1/2 c. potatoes
- 1 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Brown stew meat in oil.

2Add tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper, soy sauce and beef stock.

3Bring to a boil.

4Simmer 1 1/2 hours.

5Cut the vegetables.

6When meat is almost cooked, add carrots, celery and onion.

7Bring to a boil and simmer 15 minutes.

8Add potatoes and cook until tender.

9Mix cornstarch and cold water.

10Stir into stew and simmer a few minutes.

11Good!
