- 2 to 3 lb. beef stew (brisket or all meat)
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 3 c. water
- 1 large onion
- 1 large or 2 medium cans tomatoes
- 6 to 8 medium diced potatoes
- salt and pepper
- carrot (optional)
Directions

1Season beef stew with salt and pepper; brown it in Crisco. Remove oil from pot, then put meat back in pot.

2Add water and onion.

3Cook until almost done, then add tomatoes and potatoes. Please season to your taste.
