  • 1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cubed
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. Mazola oil
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can water
  • 1 (16 oz.) can sliced carrots
  • 1 (16 oz.) can small whole potatoes, cut in half
  • 1 c. pearl onions

Directions

    Coat beef with seasoned flour.

    Heat oil in Dutch oven, then add beef and brown on all sides.

    Drain off fat.

    Add onion, seasonings, lemon juice, sugar, Worcestershire, water, tomato sauce.

    Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours, adding more water if necessary.
