Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 lb. beef cubes
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (15 oz.) can cut green beans
  • 4 to 6 carrots, cut into pieces
  • 4 to 6 potatoes, cut into chunks

Directions

    Melt margarine in pan on stove.

    Brown meat with onion, salt and pepper added.

    Place potatoes, green beans, carrots and water over meat.
  4. 4
    Cover and bake in the oven at 350° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender.

    Return to stove.

    Make a paste of 2 tablespoons flour and 1/4 cup water.

    Stir into stew to thicken broth.
