Ingredients

  • 3 lb. stewing meat
  • 2 c. carrots, cut up
  • 2 c. onions, cut up
  • 4 c. cubed, potatoes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can consomme beef soup
  • 1 c. peas

Directions

    Roll meat in flour; brown in 4 tablespoons fat.

    Cover with boiling water; simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

    Add carrots, onions, potatoes, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, thyme and consomme beef soup.

    Cook for 1 hour.

    Add peas; cook for 15 minutes.

    Thicken if necessary.
