Ingredients
- 1 lb. good top round or sirloin, cut into 1/4 to 3/4-inch strips
- hot vegetable oil
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 c. diagonal carrot slices
- 1 c. diagonal celery slices
- 2 c. mushroom halves (1/2 lb.)
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Brown meat in oil; drain.

2Add 1 cup water, soy sauce and garlic to drippings.

3Cover and simmer 5 minutes.

4Add carrot, celery and mushrooms.

5Cover and continue cooking 15 to 20 minutes.

6Combine the cornstarch and cold water and blend well. Gradually add cornstarch mixture to hot meat and vegetables. Stir constantly until mixture boils and thickens.

7Remove from heat and stir in cheese.

8Serve over hot, cooked rice.
