Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. top round steak, cut in strips or 1/4-inch cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. bacon or other fat
  • flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms or preferably fresh ones
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 drops Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg. spaghetti or egg noodles (2 pkg. if serving 8 with 1 1/2 lb. meat)
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream

Directions

    Brown flour-coated meat in fat; add onion, garlic and drained mushrooms.

    Combine seasonings in mushroom liquid (or water if using fresh ones).

    Add soup.

    Simmer at least 1 hour.

    Add sour cream and heat just before serving.
