- 6 slices Bacon
- 1 tablespoon Minced onion
- 2 pounds Lean stew beef cubes
- 1 pinch Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons Flour
- 2 cans Beef consomme
- 1 piece Bay leaf
- 1 pinch Thyme
- 1 pinch Garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon Wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
Directions

1Fry bacon until crisp. Crumble in 2-quart casserole.

2Sprinkle minced onion over bacon.

3Brown beef cubes in drippings with salt and pepper. When browned, sprinkle with flour.

4Stir well. Remove from heat.

5Add consomme gradually, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

6Add to casserole.

7Add bay leaf, thyme, garlic salt, vinegar, and sugar.

8Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

9Serve over rice or noodles.
