- 4 lb. beef brisket, trimmed of fat
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 c. thinly sliced onion
- 3/8 c. chili sauce
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 12 oz. can of beer
- 3 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 300°.

2Season meat with salt and pepper and place in a roasting pan.

3Top with onion.

4Combine chili sauce with sugar, garlic and 1 cup beer; pour over meat.

5Bake covered 4 1/2 to 5 hours.

6Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer, basting occasionally.

7Remove beef; let stand 10 to 15 minutes.

8Slice 1/4 inch thick across the grain.

9Degrease the cooking liquid.

10Add water (or beef bouillon) if needed to equal 1 cup.

11Blend flour and remaining 1/2 cup beer.

12Add to cooking liquid.

13Adjust seasoning to taste.

14Simmer until thick.

15Serve sauce on the side. Serves 8-10.
