  • 1 whole chicken, cut up 10 pieces
  • 1 cup beer, cold Sapporo premium
  • 12 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 12 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ice cold water
  • oil

Directions

    Mix together the beer, soy sauce, oils, salt, sugar, ginger and pepper and pour over the chicken pieces and cover and into the refrigerator overnight.

    In a mixing bowl add flour, cornstarch and baking powder.

    Blend in egg and cold water to fold a batter.

    Dip the chicken piece into batter and let rest for 10 minutes.

    Heat oil in a deep fryer to 360 and fry to a golden brown.
