  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. strong vinegar
  • small young beets

Directions

    Cook beets until tender; dip in cold water.

    Peel off skins. Mix ingredients for syrup.

    Pour over beets and simmer for 15 minutes.

    Pack into sterilized jars and seal.
