Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. oil

Directions

    Mix 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt in mixer bowl.

    Add butter and water; beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Add egg and 1/2 cup flour; beat for 1 minute.

    Stir in enough remaining flour to make soft dough.

    Knead on floured surface for 5 minutes.

    Let rest, covered with plastic wrap and towel, for 20 minutes.

    Shape into rolls.

    Place on greased baking sheet.

    Brush with oil. Chill, covered, overnight.

    Let rise until doubled in bulk.

    Bake at 375° for 20 to 30 minutes.
