- 23 cup milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large egg whites
- Powdered sugar
- Ice cream (optional)
Directions

1Heat waffle iron.

2Whisk butter and milk together.

3Sift flour into mixture, and whisk until smooth; stir in sugar, salt and vanilla.

4Beat egg whites until they hold firm, glossy peaks.

5Fold batter gently into whites.

6Batter will be very thin.

7Pour batter onto grids.

8Bake 2 minutes; turn, and bake until golden.

9Serve dusted with sugar and ice cream, if desired.
