Ingredients
- 3 cups sultanas
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- 125 g butter
- 1 34 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 12-1 teaspoon curry powder
Directions

1Place sultanas, sugar, water and butter in a saucepan.

2Bring to the boil.

3Simmer 5 minutes.

4Cool totally.

5Sift remaining ingredients into a bowl.

6Make a well in the centre.

7Pour in fruit mixture.

8Mix well and spoon into 2 greased loaf tins 10 x 20 cms.

9Bake moderate oven 180 C for i hour or till cooked when tested.

10Cool 5 minutes in tin then turn onto wire rack.

11Whentotally cool, serve sliced and buttered.
