  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped candied lemon peel
  • 1 c. seedless raisins
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
