- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Beat eggs and sugar.

2Add shortening.

3Add flour, sifted with salt, baking powder and spices, alternately with milk.

4Roll on lightly floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with doughnut cutter.

5Fry in hot shortening (365° to 375°) until brown.

6Drain on absorbent paper.
