- 2 pounds fresh turnips
- 1 fresh apple (optional)
- 2 or 3 tbsp. margarine
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Peel turnips with a vegetable peeler and cut in chunks. Cut apple in chunks. (Apple may be peeled according to your preference.) Place in pot with margarine, and sugar; add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes, or until the turnip chunks are tender. Serve hot.
