- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Vegetable oil or 4 oz Apple sauce
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1/3 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 cup Chocolate chips

1Preheat oven to 350F (175 C).

2Grease a 9x9 baking pan.

3In a medium bowl, mix together the oil, sugar, and vanilla.

4Beat in eggs.

5Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the egg mixture until well blended.

6Stir in chips or nuts if desired.

7Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

8Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownie begins to pull away from the edges of pan.

9Let cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
