- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 3 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. anise extract/powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts (1/2 c. walnuts, 1/2 c. almonds)
Directions

1Add sugar to beaten eggs; beat well.

2Add remaining ingredients; mix well but do not overbeat.

3Spoon batter on greased cookie sheet, forming 3 rows lengthwise.

4Bake 18 minutes at 375°. Remove loaves from oven and cut into 1/2-inch slices.

5Lay slices flat on cookie sheet and return to oven to brown lightly:

65 minutes at 350°, turn, and then 5 minutes more at 350°.
