  • 6 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. anise extract/powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (1/2 c. walnuts, 1/2 c. almonds)

Directions

    Add sugar to beaten eggs; beat well.

    Add remaining ingredients; mix well but do not overbeat.

    Spoon batter on greased cookie sheet, forming 3 rows lengthwise.

    Bake 18 minutes at 375°. Remove loaves from oven and cut into 1/2-inch slices.

    Lay slices flat on cookie sheet and return to oven to brown lightly:

    5 minutes at 350°, turn, and then 5 minutes more at 350°.
