- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
- buttermilk
- oleo
- milk
Directions

1Mix shortening with flour until crumbly.

2Add buttermilk, a little at a time, until you can form a soft dough (a little less than one cup).

3Place dough on lightly floured surface; pat or roll dough out until smooth and about 3/4-inch thick.

4Cut out biscuits with biscuit cutter.

5Place on a buttered cookie sheet. Brush top with milk.

6Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400°.
