- 2 c. sifted flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 3/4 c. water (with bottom of milk)
Directions

1Sift the flour with baking powder and salt.

2Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Add water and milk all at once and mix just until dough follows fork around bowl.

4Preheat oven to 450°.

5Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead gently 1/2 minute.

6Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter, glass or cup.

7Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 12 to 15 minutes, just until golden brown on top.
