- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 450°.

2Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.

3Cut shortening into flour with fork until consistency of coarse meal.

4Add milk all at once; stir with fork just until a soft dough forms.

5Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; sprinkle dough lightly with flour.

6Knead gently 10 times or until no longer sticky.

7Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with 2-inch floured biscuit cutter.

8Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet.

9Bake at 450° for 8-12

10minutes or until golden brown.

11Makes 12 biscuits.
