- 2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening or butter
- 3/4 c. milk (approximately)
Directions

1Set oven to 450°.

2Put flour, baking powder and salt into sifter, then sift dry ingredients into a bowl.

3Add shortening and cut it in using a pastry blender or two knives.

4Add and stir just enough milk to make a soft dough.

5Turn dough out on a lightly floured board and knead gently 15 to 20 times.

6Roll out or pat dough to 1/2-inch and cut with 2-inch cookie cutter.

7Place on ungreased baking sheet.

8Bake 12 to 15 minutes until brown.
