- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 450 degrees.

2Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

3In large bowl, cut shortening into flour with fork or pastry blender until consistency of course meal.

4Add milk; stir with fork until mixture leaves side of bowl and forms a soft, moist dough (1 to 3 additional tablespoons may be needed to achieve desired consistency).

5Turn onto floured surface; gently knead 10 times or until no longer sticky.

6Roll out 1/2 inch thick; cut with two inch floured cutter.

7Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

8Bake at 450 degrees 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

9Yields 10 to 12 biscuits.
