- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 12 cup cold butter
- 1 cup water
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

2Using a pastry blender or two forks, cut butter into the flour mixture until it resembles course crumbs.

3Add water and stir gently, taking care not to overmix, which will toughen the biscuts.

4The dough will be quite sticky.

5Turn dough out onto a floured surface and quickly knead 5 or 6 times.

6Roll or pat out dough to approximately 1-inch thickness.

7Cut out using a floured round biscuit cutter.

8Place on an ungreased baking pan and bake in a preaheated 375F oven for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
