- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt and cut in shortening.

2It will resemble coarse crumbs.

3Make a well in the center and add milk at once.

4Stir just until dough clings together.

5Knead gently for 10 to 12 strokes.

6Roll or pat to 1/2 inch thickness.

7Cut and place on baking sheet.

8Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

9Serves 10.
