- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 5 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Cut flour, sugar and shortening until crumbly.

2Add yeast and milk; mix as for biscuits, using more flour if necessary.

3Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut.

4Place on greased pan and let sit 30 to 60 minutes.

5Bake in 400° oven until browned.
